The best of the week's live comedy, picked from the thousands of events Chortle currently has listed. It's very much Edinburgh preview season, so use our search panel to check our full listings by date and region, including those works in progress - but here are a few special events this week.
Sunday July 16
NEWPORT: The Welsh city's Tredegar Park plays host to an impressive festival of comedy, featuring Milton Jones, Mark Watson, Tom Davis, Maisie Adam, Ivo Graham and Rhys James
LONDON: The Moth Club is hosting a day of comedy specials to be filmed by indie label Go Faster Stripe. At 2pm it's Terry Wogan Screams with Benjamin Alborough and Sean Morley, followed by Joz Norris's Blink at 4pm and Joz Norris Is Dead. Long Live Mr Fruit Salad at 7pm, closing off with John-Luke Roberts: A World Just Like Our Own, But… at 9pm.
SHEFFIELD: The New Barrack Tavern hosts an Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer from 2pm, offering a marathon of shows from the likes of established comics Glenn Wool, Scott Bennett and Patrick Monahan, for the price of a couple of pints.
Thursday July 20
LONDON: The Ealing Comedy Festival gets under way with four nights of top-drawer mixed-bill comedy nights under a marquee in Walpole Park. Tonight's opening gala features Fiona Allen, Greg Proops, Justin Moorhouse, Matt Stellingwerf, Neil Delamere, Paul Tonkinson, Ray Badran and Shaparak Khorsandi - and click here for the rest of the line-ups.
