Dawn French writes a book about all her mistakes

The Twat Files to coincide with her new stand-up tour

Dawn French has written a new book, The Twat Files,  about all the times in her life she’s  been ‘far from perfect.

‘In fact,’ she added, the title will document ‘all the times I've been an utter twat. And there are many, many, many examples; more than I ever thought.’

The Twat Files will be published on October 12 to coincide with her latest tour, Dawn French Is A Huge Twat, which also covers her past mistakes.

In a video posted on social media, the Vicar Of Dibley star said her book would be ‘butting against being perfect’, adding: ‘Let's celebrate all our flaws and the mistakes we make."

And in the promotional blurb, she further explains: 'Time and time again, I've been a massive eejit. But the more I think about it, the more I understand that the moments where I've made mistakes, misunderstood stuff and messed up are key. That's where all my learning happens and where I laugh the most.

‘Being a twat is universal and my twatishness is no different to yours. Except perhaps, that mine has been horrifyingly public on occasion. My hope is that reading these stories of my twattishness might remind you of just what a massive twat you also are, that we might celebrate and revel in this most delightful of traits, together.’

French has written the memoirs Dear Fatty, four novels – According to Yes, A Tiny Bit Marvellous, Oh Dear Silvia and Because of You – as well as her ‘manual to be a good person’, Me. You. Not A Diary.
