20 UK dates following his Britain's Got Talent win

Britain’s Got Talent winner Viggo Venn has announced his first UK tour, with 20 dates starting this autumn.

When the Norwegian physical comic took the title on the ITV show earlier this month, judge Alesha Dixon said he ‘captivated the nation’ while Bruno Tonioli said he had ‘created one of the most memorable characters since Mr Bean.’

And Simon Cowell – who was initially unimpressed with his act - finally conceded: ‘I have never ever met an act like you in my life, I will admit it, I really really love you.’

The comic – who memorably performed energetic routines in his hi-vis vest won  £250,000 and a slot at the Royal Variety Performance.

And today he renamed the safety gear as the ‘Viggo vest’.

He said: ‘I have been receiving thousands of videos on Instagram from young and old dancing around in hi-vis vests and nothing makes me happier.

‘So excited to bring a show full of fun, quirkiness and surprises for everyone. Can’t wait to meet people and go on a highly visible UK tour. (I will bring Viggo-vests with me, if you forget yours). ‘

The tour – entitled British comedian – kicks off in Milton Keynes on October 23 and ends in Taunton in February next year. It includes a date in London’s West End, playing the  1,400-capacity Shaftesbury Theatre, currently home to the Mrs Doubtfire musical.

It is being promoted by Impatient Productions, the company set up by comic Mark Watson. He said: 'This wildly entertaining Norwegian was somewhat under the radar when we began working with him, but having won Britain’s Got Talent he is very much on the radar. He has broken the radar. The radar is screaming for new batteries like your smoke detector does in the middle of the night.'
