Jordan Gray announces first UK tour

Having stormed Edinburgh, Melbourne – and late-night TV

Jordan Gray has announced her first UK tour.

The transgender comic – who was nominated for most outstanding show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival this month – will take her hit show Is it A Bird? to 21 venues across the UK and Ireland.

Her show was also a hit at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, leading her to become the first trans person to play the London Palladium solo.

And in October, she made a memorable appearance on Channel 4’s Friday Night Live, stripping naked to play her keyboard. It attracted more than 1,500 complaints, which were rejected by regulator Ofcom.

Gray is working on an ITV sitcom about a transgender supermarket worker, entitled Transaction, and a  semi-autobiographical Radio 4 sitcom called Spectacular based on her former experiences in the music business, which included being the first trans performer on BBC One singing contest The Voice UK in 2016.

She also recently launched her own podcast, Transplaining,

Is it A Bird? kicks off at the Bristol Tobacco Factory on September 6 and winds up at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre on October 27. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday.
