Minnie Driver cast in America's female-led Peep Show remake
Minnie Driver is to star in the American female-led remake of Peep Show.
The star will take one of the leads in the comedy, which is being piloted for the FX network, alongside stage actor Amandla Jahava.
Although inspired by the Channel 4 show starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb, the premise has been shifted from a flatshare comedy to a workplace one.
In this new version, Jahava plays a long-suffering assistant to Driver’s character, an emotionally unstable tech entrepreneur.
The pilot episode has been written and produced by Atlanta and What We Do In The Shadows executive producer Stefani Robinson, who also serves as showrunner. Yana Gorskaya, who also worked on What We Do In The Shadows, will direct.
Driver previously appeared on the FX channel in The Riches, where she and Eddie Izzard played a husband and wife who ‘steal the American dream’ by taking over the home and identities of a wealthy dead couple. Jahava recently had a recurring role in Issa Rae’s Rap Sh*t for HBO Max.
Executive producers on the remake include original Peep Show creators Jesse Armstrong – who went on to write Succession – and Sam Bain as well as Hannah Mackay and Ben Farrell from British production company Objective Fiction.
