Bebe Neuwirth reprises her role in sitcom sequel

Frasier will be reunited with his ex-wife Lilith in the sequel series now being filmed, it has been revealed.

Bebe Neuwirth has signed up to reprise her role for a guest appearance in the Paramount+ comedy.

The emotionally distant character will re-encounter Kelsey Grammer’s Frasier at a birthday party for their son Freddy.

According to US media, Lilith is far from pleased about having to share Freddy (to be played by Jack Cutmore-Scott) with the psychiatrist now is back living in Boston – where they both used to frequent the Cheers bar – and the party ends in a massive   showdown.

The series also features Only Fools And Horses star Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan Cornwall, a university professor and an old college friend of Frasier’s. His character is described as ‘British, boozy and larger than life, [with] an intellect on par with Frasier’s — if only he ever felt like using it’.

One fan who attended the recording of the new series posted online: ‘I was at at the taping for episode 3 of the reboot. If you love Frasier you will be very happy.’

Grammer is an executive producer on the sequel, which is being written by Chris Harris  and Joe Cristall. The cast also includes Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Jess Salgueiro as Eve and Anders Keith as David.

Neuwirth has recently been seen on HBO Max and Sky Atlantic’s Julia  and The Flight Attendant, as well as her stage work.
