Jamie Demetriou joins Netflix comedy Back in Action
Jamie Demetriou has joined the cast of new Netflix action-comedy movie Back in Action – starring alongside Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
Also getting on board the project – directed by Seth Gordon – is Andrew Scott, akaJim Moriarty in BBC’s Sherlock – joining the previously announced Kyle Chandler and Glenn Close are also aboard for roles, as previously announced.
It is something of a Fleabag reunion as Scott played the Hot Priest and Demetriou played Bus Rodent.
No plot details have been made public about Back in Action – Diaz’s first film since she said she was retiring from acting 2014 – but Demetriou’s involvement was reported by Deadline.
The role signifies Demetriou’s increasing stock in the US after Stath Lets Flats ended.
Among other parts, he recently appeared in Apple TV+’s The After Party, voiced the headmaster in Disney’s Pinocchio and Dr Mc Phee in Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again, and appeared in the hit mockumentary series Documentary Now!
He will appear in the forthcoming film version of Barbie alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, while his Netflix special A Whole Lifetime with Jamie Demetriou drops at the end of the month.
