Darren Harriott sails through Dancing On Ice's Musical Week
Darren Harriott has lived to skate another week on Dancing On Ice after coming firmly mid-table in Musicals Week
Former Liberty X star Michelle Heaton was sent home from the ITV show tonight after receiving just 20 points, just half a point above former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, who tumbled on to the ice during her performance.
Harriott scored 27 points for his dance to Fat Sam’s Grand Slam from Bugsy Malone, his second in the competition, placing him sixth out of ten.
A grand slam in the face, but was it a winner on the ice? @DarrenHarriott & @TippyPackard won't be pied off with their score of 27! #DancingOnIce pic.twitter.com/MLKnlWGGo5

Harriott was hit in the face with three custard pies during his routine with pro partner Tippy Packard, After it aired, the comedian tweeted a picture of his face covered in a custard pie, saying: ‘It’s a living’ and thanking fans for their votes.’

Viewers were divided over whether the couple had been over or under-marked with tweets including: ‘Darren should have got higher marks… Don’t get the scores’; ‘A fun routine but for me slightly overmarked. Just my opinion. But entertaining'; and the ambiguous ‘Eh?? Were the judges watching a different skate?’
Heaton’s dismissal was controversial as this week the show did away with its usual skate-off between the lowest ranked contestants, saving one of them. Instead, the partnership which received the lowest judges' score combined with public votes was immediately sent home.
Gymnast Nile Wilson topped the leaderboard with his routine to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang scoring 33.5 points. This was the first week all the Dancing On Ice contestants skated together, having previously been separated into two halves.
