Lucy Beaumont announces first tour
Lucy Beaumont has announced her first-ever tour.
Her new show draws on her marriage to Jon Richardson – as explored in Dave’s Meet The Richardsons and Channel 4’s Jon And Lucy’s Odd Couples – and is entitled The Trouble And Strife.
She will play 25 dates across the UK, kicking off on October 4 in Durham and ending on December 3 at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre.
The publicity for the tour says: ‘It's time for the wife to tour now. The award-winning comic (before she met comedian Jon Richardson) is going to let loose and let slip on her rollercoaster world overflowing with offbeat stories, unusual anecdotes, and bizarre journeys through modern day womanhood. Life through the Beaumont lens is more surreal than you could ever imagine.’
Beaumont was nominated for the best newcomer award at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe for her debut, We Can Twerk It Out. She returned in 2019 with Space Mam, which had been set for a small UK tour but was cancelled because of Covid.
She has also created and co-written Hullraisers, the female-led comedy series which aired on Channel 4 last year, and wrote and starred in Radio 4’s To Hull And Back.
Her comedy memoir Drinking Custard: The Diary Of A Confused Mum was published by Octopus in 2021.
Tickets for the new tour will be on sale soon.
