Tom Ward fronts a 'charity shop Taskmaster'
Tom Ward is making a new Channel 4 series drawing on his past working in a charity show.
Funraisers will air on the broadcaster’s social channels and in each of the six episodes the comedian will give two comics or influencers ‘anarchic, nerve-testing’ tasks based on items from a charity shop.
Programme makers Spirit Studios say: ‘These tasks will see them abandon their sense of shame and unleash chaos onto the streets of a small, unsuspecting town, using donated items as their ammunition.’
The show, which has already been dubbed a ‘charity shop Taskmaster’ will go out on Channel 4.0 on YouTube as well as Facebook, Snap, Instagram and TikTok.
Spirit Studios founder Matt Campion told Rapid TV News: ‘It’s great to be launching a brand new comedy series that has huge potential to run and run.’
His company makes The Stand Up Sketch Show for ITV2 and also produced Dane Baptiste’s Bamous.
Ward previously fronted the digital series No Instructions for Spirit, which also went out on Channel 4’s social channels, and will be touring next year with his stand-up show Anthem.
