Jack Whitehall to front major diabetes fundraiser
Jack Whitehall is to host a major benefit gig in aid of Diabetes UK, after his girlfriend Roxy Horner was diagnosed with the condition.
The comic will front a line-up – yet to be confirmed – at London’s Savoy Theatre on December 19,
He said: ‘Very excited to announce a very special fundraiser event to raise money for a charity very important to Roxy and I. The line-up up for this show is shaping up to be insane! So grab a ticket while you can.’
Horner, 31, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2021 and wears an electronic device which monitors her blood glucose level. It sends a message and alarm to her and others phones when it is dangerously low.
Last month she told how the Dexcom device saver her life, saying on Instagram: 'I still find it frightening when I have a hypo alone as I can go unconscious & I'm still learning that when I'm sick it's different and more difficult to manage. I'm beyond grateful to have @dexcomuk which alerted my people.’
She later added: ‘So the past week, my diabetes has been super hard to control due to not being well. All I can say is thank god for @dexcomuk alerting my friends and family.’
Tickets for the Jack Whitehall & Friends gig will go on sale via Ticketmaster tomorrow and other outlets on Friday.
