‘Weird Al’ Yankovic announces UK dates

With Emo Phillips in support

‘Weird Al’ Yankovic is to play a short UK and Ireland tour next year.

The six dates come amid renewed interest in the musical comedian following the release of the spoof biopic starring Daniel Radcliffe

However The Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour will not feature any of his famed song parodies – only original comedy songs.

He will be supported on his dates in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London by another celebrated American oddball comedian, Emo Philips.

Yankovic said: 'I don’t very often get an opportunity to tour outside of North America, so it’s a huge thrill for me to come back to the UK and play a bunch of songs that most people would rather not hear.'

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story was released on streaming platform Roku on Friday, although you need a dedicated device to watch it.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday. ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic tour dates.
