NOTTINGHAM: The city’s comedy festival continues all week, with tonight’s highlight a triple bill at the Canalhouse: Lauren Pattison’s latest storytelling show It Is What It Is at 5.30pm, the silly pun-loving Scottish Falsetto Socks at 7pm and fine Everyman comedy from Scott Bennett at 8.30pm. MANCHESTER: Beat The Frog, the weekly gong show held at the Frog & Bucket comedy club is, incredibly, in its 19th year. The best of the crop take part in an annual - ungonged - showcase called the World Series Final, which takes place tonight. Vying for title are Dane Buckley, James Ellis, Katie Gill-Williams, Bennet Kavanagh, Molly McGuinness, Sergi Polo, Faizan Shah, Richard Spalding, Viggo Venn and Amy Webber. LONDON: The Comedy Store plays host to Stand Up for Animals, a benefit gig for Humane Society International that boasts a strong line-up: Adele Cliff, Alasdair Beckett-King, Carl Donnelly, Kerry Godliman and Lou Sanders.

HAYES: Sara Pascoe starts her latest tour, Success Story, at the Beck Theatre in Middlesex tonight. It was inspired by her reconsidering what is meant by ‘success’ after hearing the word so often during her IVF treatment, as she discusses in this interview . LONDON: Ramy Youssef - star of the acclaimed, eponymous and autobiographical US TV series about being raised Muslim in New Jersey - plays a rare British stand-up date tonight, at the Leicester Square Theatre.
LONDON: Long-running comedy club The Good Ship moves to a new home this week, the Grafton Arms in Holloway, and has a fine mix of emerging comics to christen the new room: Celya AB, Jacob Hawley, Tom Ward and regular host Ben Van Der Velde.
BIRMINGHAM: As part of the city’s Shout Festival of queer art and culture, Jen Brister, Zoe Lyons play the Glee, in a special night of the MY comedy club run and compered by Maureen Younger.

STRATFORD-UPON-AVON: Garth Marenghi returns to the stage. His creator Matthew Holness kicks off a live book tour at the Stratford Literary Festival to promote the publication of the ‘long-lost multi-volume horror epic’ TerrorTome, Seventeen more dates follow.
