Sunday July 24
MIDDLESBROUGH: He may now be a leading TV presenter, but Joel Dommett is also a skilled stand-up - and he’ll be flexing those muscles at a major gig at the Town Hall tonight. There’s more than decent support from Emmanuel Sonubi, Jen Brister, and Matt Reed, too. Tickets
LONDON: A fine bill at Live At The Clapham Grand includes screen star Nick Mohammed, from Sky’s Intelligence, Taskmaster’s Sophie Duker, and all-round good eggs Esther Manito, Rhys James and Jack Barry
Tuesday July 26
LONDON: There’s a good mix of stand-up styles at the West End Comedy Club at the Covent Garden Social Club tonight, with enjoyably offbeat Toussaint Douglass, camp livewire Stephen Bailey and deceptively devilish Sally-Anne Hayward.
Wednesday July 27
LONDON: Disarmingly frank and full of nervous energy, Felicity Ward headlines Laugh Train Home at the Four Thieves in Clapham tonight, backed by inventive Andy Field, powerhouse Sooz Kempner and regular MC Robyn Perkins.
ST ALBANS: The Comedy Garden series of outdoor gigs kicks off with Dylan Moran headlining on a bill that also boasts. Kerry Godliman, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Rhys James, Sikisa. Others swinging by Verulamium Park over the coming days include Sara Pascoe, Tim Key, Ed Byrne and Al Murray. Full line-up and tickets
Friday July 29
HEVER: This sounds intriguing. As part of the Kent town’s festival, Jon Holmes is performing a DJ set in the castle grounds… but based on his trippy and award-winning Radio 4 comedy The Skewer, which mashes up real political and pop culture soundbites with music tracks to make a satirical point. The blurb says: ‘Dance if you wish, drink if you must (no one will judge you, it’s been a rough couple of years), or just sit back on a hot summer’s night and let the soundscapes of The Skewer wash over you.’
BRIGHTON: A most excellent bill at Komedia this weekend as Jack Barry introduces provocateur Fin Taylor, livewire improvisers Noise Next Door and over-sharer Catherine Bohart.
DUMFRIES: Farmer and comedian Jim Smith is donning the checked shirt once again as he takes to the road with more tales of Scottish rural life. Click here for all the dates in his The Hills Have Ayes tour.
Saturday July 30
LONDON: Sara Pascoe headlines a gig in Islington’s impressive Union Chapel venue, where she’s joined by the sharp gagsmith Rhys James and fast-rising Chloe Petts and Huge Davies.
