More comedians join Chortle's Fast Fringe

Packed festival showcase coming to London's Bloomsbury Theatre

More names have been added to Chortle’s packed Fast Fringe showcase in London.

Names joining the July 7 gig at Bloomsbury Theatre include social media sensation Rosie Holt, sardonic French character Marcel Lucont and circuit stalwart John Hastings.

Audiences will also be entertained by ‘idiot magicians’ Griffin & Jones, up-and-coming comic Jen Ives and Dorking's most successful pub singer Yasmine Day, among many others.

In all, the show – to be hosted by Fringe veteran Arthur Smith – will feature 28 comedy and variety acts heading to the Edinburgh Fringe the following month,

Tickets priced, are available from the Bloomsbury Theatre box office, priced £18 (£15 concs). Streaming tickets are available here, priced £6 plus £1.06 booking fee.

The new names join a previously announced line-up that includes  Chortle best newcomer Celya AB, 2015 BBC New Comedy Award winner Yuriko Kotani circuit stars Garrett MillerickRed Richardson amd Morgan Rees , and musical acts Sugarcoated Sisters, Flat & The Curves, and Frank Sanazi.

Some of the proceeds of the show will go Mama Biashara, the charity set up by The Scotsman’s comedy critic Kate Copstick that helps the poorest families in Kenyan slums set up businesses to support themselves, as well as running health and education projects.

Chortle’s Fast Fringe will also be returning to the Edinburgh itself, with an hour-long showcase at the Pleasance Dome at 6.50pm every day of the festival from August 3 to 28.

Each bill – compered by a skilled circuit MC – will comprise 12 comedy and variety acts from across the festival and each providing a bite-sized sample of their full shows and tickets are available from the Pleasance box office
