Netflix movie about the race to revolutionise breakfast

Hugh Grant has joined the cast of the movie Jerry Seinfeld is directing about  Pop-Tarts.

The star will join Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, and James Marsden for the Netflix project, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story is Seinfeld’s directorial debut, and he will also appear in it.

Also joining the cast are Jack McBrayer, Tom Lennon, Adrian Martinez, Bobby Moynihan, Max Greenfield, Sarah Cooper and Christian Slater.

Set in Michigan in 1963, it describes the rivalry between  Kellogg's and Post to create ‘a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever’.

Netflix describes it as ‘a tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar and menacing milkmen’.

Seinfeld wrote the script alongside Spike Feresten, Andy Robin and Barry Marder. No release date has been revealed.
