Major new comedy festival for Manchester
Manchester is to get a new comedy festival.
Laughterama will take place in the Castlefield Bowl open-air venue from September 21 to 25 and feature comics such as James Acaster, Dylan Moran, Aisling Bea, Phil Wang, Nish Kumar and Daniel Kitson.
It is being staged by Will Briggs and Cass Randolph, the siblings behind the Bristol and Brighton Comedy Gardens and the Greenwich Comedy Festival in London.
Briggs said: ‘We’ve been dreaming of bringing this festival to Manchester for a long time now, the city should absolutely have a stand-out event showcasing the wealth of comedy talent around.
‘There’s a golden age for comedy right now, with so many platforms to enjoy amazing content. Many of our acts have their own TV or podcast series, but nothing beats live, and we can't wait to put these acts in front of a Manchester crowd.’
Other acts taking part include Josh Widdicombe, Rosie Jones, Rose Matafeo, Milton Jones, David O’Doherty and Tim Key. Click here for full listings and ticket links
