Teenage comic Eva Abley makes BGT final
Teenage comedian Eva Abley has made it through to the final of Britain’s Got Talent.
Three of the four judges voted to put the 14-year-old through in last night’s semi-final after she made the final two on a public vote. The majority decision meant fourth judge Simon Cowell did not have to make a call.
David Walliams said that Eva who has cerebral palsy, ‘made me laugh longer than I’ve laughed in a very long time’.
But Amanda Holden used a poor choice of words when she gushed: ‘Oh my goodness me, every single joke was a banger. You’ve got funny bones, there's nothing else to say.’
Realising her comment could be interpreted as a reference to Eva’s disability, she continued: 'You know what I mean, that wasn't a joke. You've got it in your blood, you are naturally funny.
'Every single joke was a winner, darling, and every single moment was funny. You are so refreshing, so genuine, you're incredible.’
Eva joins singers Tom Ball and Maxwell Thorpe, teenage ventriloquist Jamie Leahey, impressionist Ben Nickless, musicians Flintz & T4ylor in the final, which airs at 7.30pm on Sunday on ITV.
