Bo Burnham releases an hour of Inside outtakes
Bo Burnham has released more than an hour of unused material from his acclaimed lockdown special Inside.
The show was filmed in his own home between March 2020 and May 2021 and released on Netflix a year ago yesterday.
It won him three Emmy awards and a Grammy for best song written for visual media, after being deemed ineligible for the best comedy album category that was eventually – and controversially – won by Louis CK.
Announcing the release of outtakes and other unreleased material, Burnham wrote on Instagram: A year ago today I released a special called inside. i’ve spent the last two months editing together material that i short for the special but didn’t end up using… i hope you enjoy it.’
The Inside Outtakes won acclaim from fans, with Indian comic Sahil Shah saying: ‘It's not possible to be so talented that even your outtakes are better than anything people have made.’
Another fan said: ‘Just when you think you've seen Bo at his most vulnerable, he releases this. Not because he has to but because he wants to. Easily the most open and incredible comedian of our time.’
