Jayde Adams plunges into neighbourhood disputes

...for a new Radio 4 comedy show and podcast

Jayde Adams is making a new Radio 4 comedy show and podcast delving into community WhatsApp groups and internet messageboards.

In Welcome To The Neighbourhood, the comedian will be joined by a different guest each week to share listeners’ submissions from the ‘well-meaning, but often feisty’ gossip and grumbling on such sites. They will also discuss the quirks of their guest’s hometown, and its most enduring online beefs.

The BBC says: ‘This podcast sifts through a hotbed of (largely unintentional) hilarity and discovers comedy gold concerned with graffiti-daubed wheelie bins, stray cats, e-scooters and more’.

Producers are seeking contributions for the ‘funniest and freakiest posts’ to be sent to welcometotheneighbourhood@bbc.co.uk.

Adams said: ‘Whether in Bristol, the Big Smoke or beyond, you wouldn’t believe how much of a hot topic things can become between neighbours - raucous hot tub parties, garish garden gnomes, errant parking choices, the list goes on. '

'Send in your most mind-boggling examples of virtual over-the-fence fallouts, we can’t wait to read them.’

Welcome to the Neighbourhood with Jayde Adams launches Wednesday June 29 on BBC Sounds with new episodes released weekly. It will also air on Radio 4 at 11.15pm on Wednesdays.
