The Skewer is officially comedy gold
The Skewer won the top comedy accolade at the Aria radio and podcast awards last night.
Jon Holmes, pictured, created the satirical mash-up for BBC Radio 4, and makes it through his production company Unusual Productions. It is the second year running the show won the gold accolade in the awards, run by the Radio Academy.
Holmes and his company also claimed the silver last night for Cold Case Crime Cuts, a spoof true crime podcast which the former Now Show regular also hosts.
Reacting on Twitter, Holmes posted just: 'Crikey.'
The bronze went to Rosie Jones’s stand-up programme, Box Ticker Too, made by Scottish-based Dabster Productions, also for Radio 4.
The other nominees in the category were the Audible series Jamali Maddix: Spooky Sh*t, Radio 4's Rhys James: Rhysearch, and Absolute Radio's Rockanory – also produced by Holmes.
