Bill Bailey and Rosie Jones to perform at jubilee pageant
Bill Bailey and Rosie Jones are to appear at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee pageant, it has been announced
The comedians will join the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sir Cliff Richard and even Basil Brush at the event in front of Buckingham Palace on Sunday 5 June.
More than 10,000 people will take part and the celebrations will be broadcast to hundreds of millions of people worldwide.
The People’s Pageant carnival finale will come at the end of a two-mile procession, reflecting the Queen’s coronation route.
Other celebrities confirmed to be taking part across the day include Jeremy Irons, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, Gary Lineker and Alan Titchmarsh.
The show’s director, David Zolkwer, said the event ‘will be all about how, through the recollections and stories and experiences we share, we can see how we are all connected: through time, to each other, and to the Queen.’
Other highlights include a military parade, an aerial artist suspended under a vast helium balloon bearing the image of the Queen, and a huge wedding cake shat plays Bollywood hits.
Previously it was announced that Omid Djalili will be compering a separate televised celebration of the jubilee in the private grounds of Windsor Castle from May 12-15, alongside the likes of Tom Cruise, Dame Helen Mirren, Ant & Dec and Damian Lewis.
