Jin Hao Li has become the latest stand-up to make it to the final of the Chortle Student Comedy Award.

The 23-year-old from Singapore, now studying English and film studies at the University of St Andrews, triumphed in our last semi-final, which was held at the Monkey Barrel comedy club in Edinburgh last night.

Caitriona Dowden, a 22-year-old studying for a masters in medieval studies at Oxford, and Henry Whaley, a 21-year-old studying for a masters at the Courtauld Institute of Art, tied for the honours.

Here's Henry's set:

And Caitriona's:

They all now go on to the final at the Edinburgh Fringe in August and will also play the comedy arena at the Latitude Festival in Suffolk on July 21-24.

The ultimate winner will receive a trip to Australia to perform stand-up there, thanks to the generous support of the Comedy Lounge in Perth.

Now videos of all  the semi-final performances will be reviewed and another five wildcard places announced in the coming days.
