Wolf and Owl podcast hits the stage
Romesh Ranganathan and Tom Davis are bringing their ‘content-free’ Wolf and Owl podcast to the live stage next month.
The pair have today announced that they will be shooting the breeze at the Hackney Empire in East London on March 24.
Ranganathan said: ‘Tom and I are mainly doing this to see if anyone will turn up to the live version of probably the most content free podcast available. I also think he wants to give his impression of me a run-out in front of a live audience. This could be really great or a glorious failure.
Davis, currently starring in Channel 4’s The Curse, added: ‘Since we started this journey of self discovery and personal development that is The Wolf and Owl, nothing has made me more giddy than standing toe-to-toe on stage with my sweet, sweet brother the Owl, just talking absolute shit in front of a live pack of assorted animals. That time is here.’
The pair started recording their weekly podcast in November 2020, based on the idea they would just 'shoot the breeze for an hour a week because they couldn’t work out a format', adding :Not enough podcasts are just people talking with no real purpose. We’ve come to change all that.'
Yet the lack of format does not stop the podcast regularly making the top ten in the comedy podcast charts.
Tickets for the Hackney Empire gig go on general sale next Thursday, March 3.
