Dark comedy for Disney+

Eddie Izzard is to star in a new heist series for Disney+.

The comic has been cast in Culprits alongside Gemma Arterton, The Virutues star Niamh Algar  and  Misfits star Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.

Filming on the eight-part dark comedy starts this week in Canada and across Europe, including the UK and Spain, ScreenDaily reports.

The series follows the aftermath of a heist, with each member of the crew  individually targeted by a killer after they have gone their separate ways.

Culprits was one of the first UK original series to be announced by Disney+ in April last year.

It’s a busy time for Izzard, who is also currently shooting a new version of the Jekyll and Hyde story, playing Dr Nina Jekyll.
