Jim Moir to front new craft series

...also featuring Prince Charles!

Vic Reeves creator Jim Moir is to host a new TV crafting series – which also features The Prince of Wales.

In The Prince’s Master Crafters: The Next Generation, six amateur craftspeople take on a series of crafting challenges to hone their skills before presenting a showcase piece to present to Prince Charles in person.

The seven-part series for Sky Arts ties into the aims of Charles’s Princes Trust charity to preserve heritage craft skills such as wood carving and weaving.

Blacksmithing, stained-glass work, stone carving and a type of decorative plastering called pargeting will also feature.

Sky Arts director Phil Edgar-Jones said: ‘Over the last two years many of us have taken up artistic pursuits and more people are getting into crafts - from stained glass to woodcarving and everything in between.

‘The Prince of Wales has championed those traditional crafts for many years, so it feels like there’s no better time to showcase the brilliant skills of this cohort of crafters.
This series will air in May.
