New book deal for Ian Moore

Two more novels in comedian's Follet Valley Mysteries series

Ian Moore is to write two more mystery novels.

The stand-up has signed a deal with Duckworth Books imprint Farrago to pen follow-ups to Death And Croissants, which was published this summer.

Book No 2, Death and Fromage, is scheduled for publication in July next year and the third a year later. The series will be known as the Follet Valley Mysteries.

Moore told trade website The Bookseller: ‘I am so grateful for the faith that Farrago are putting in me and for all the people who have read the series opener. I wish I could say more, but I clearly have a lot of work to be getting on with.’

The central character in the Follet Valley Mysteries is a middle-aged Englishman who runs a bed-and-breakfast in the Loire Valley, France while Moore is a middle-aged Englishman who runs a bed-and-breakfast in the Loire Valley... who also gigs on the UK comedy circuit.

In July, it was announced that TV production company Free@Last, makers of  Agatha Raisin, has bought the rights to adapt  Death and Croissants for the screen.
