...but Charlie Brooker's not involved this year

Charlie Brooker’s production company has made another year-end round-up for Netflix… but the Black Mirror creator is not directly involved this time around.

Death To 2021 features several stars who appeared in last year’s special, including Hugh Grant, Diane Morgan, Tracey Ullman, Samson Kayo, Cristin Milioti  and Joe Keery.

But while Brooker wrote Death To 2020, this year’s writing team is headed by Ben Caudell, whose credits include Famalam, A Touch of Cloth and Cunk on Britain.

Caudell is also executive producer with Annabel Jones, Brooker’s long-term collaborator and partner in production company Broke and Bones.

As before, the documentary-style special mixes archival footage from the year with commentary from fictitious characters, acted by a cast that also includes Lucy Liu, William Jackson Harper, Stockard Channing and  Nick Mohammed.

 Netflix has today released a trailer for the show featuring Morgan as 'average British citizen Gemma Nerrick' talking about using dating apps in lockdown.

The show drops on December 27.
