Mo Gilligan to host the Brits
Mo Gilligan has been named as the host of next year’s Brit awards.
He said: ‘It’s an absolute privilege to host the 2022 Brit Awards. I’m truly honoured to be asked.
‘We’re already in the extensive planning stages and all I can say is, I promise we’re going to give it all we’ve got to create an incredible night for music fans everywhere.’
The ceremony will take place at London’s O2 Arena on February 8 next year.
Meanwhile Clara Amfo and Maya Jama, also picture above, will be presenting the Brits Are Coming nomination show on ITV next month.
Amfo said: 'It is such an honour and pleasure to be part of The Brits presenting team for 2022. The spirit of celebration from the artists to the viewers is really special and I’m so excited for everyone to see more memories being made on the red carpet and stage in February!’
The Brits have shaken up some of their categories for next year, including moving away from separate categories for male and female artists.
Awards chair Tom March, said: ‘It is important that the Brits continue to evolve and aim to be as inclusive as possible. It feels completely the right time to celebrate the achievements of artists for the music that they create, and the work that they do, irrespective of gender’
He added: ‘The 2022 show is shaping up really well, Mo is going to be an excellent host and I am thankful to him along with Clara and Maya for being part of this year's Brits.’
