Ben Elton announces West End run
Ben Elton has announced a two-week run in London’s West End this Christmas.
Before Covid, the comic and writer made a return to stand-up after a 15-year absence with a UK tour.
Now, after a two-year delay it lands at the Harold Pinter Theatre from December 20 to 30.
He said: ‘London’s my home town and the West End is where my career as a stand-up began, so it’s a very big thrill to be bringing my show to the famous Harold Pinter Theatre.
‘It’s also quite ironic since (as every long-suffering theatre-goer knows) Harold Pinter wouldn’t have recognised a joke if it awarded him the Nobel Prize for Literature. Of course, the theatre used to be called The Comedy and I can’t wait to bring the laughter back.’
As well as creating or co-creating TV shows including The Young Ones, Blackadder and Upstart Crow, Elton has written four West End plays, four West End musicals, 16 novels and three feature films.
Tickets for the London run are available here.
