Sara Pascoe joins The Great British Sewing Bee
Sara Pascoe is replacing Joe Lycett as the host of The Great British Sewing Bee.
Lycett has been on the show for three series, but tweeted today: ‘A bit of news: I loved my journey on @sewingbee but I’ve decided it is time for me to go. My friend the great @sarapascoe will be the new host and I know she will be fantastic. Big love to all the brilliant team, and go Sara!’
While Pascoe said she was ‘beyond excited and very very happy’ to be joining the BBC One show, which tries to find the UK's best amateur sewing expert.
She added: ‘I'm so inspired by creativity and skill and I am deeply* in love with clothes so I can't think of a happier place to be.’
Pascoe will join judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young when the show, returns to BBC One next year.

BBC executive Patrick Holland thanked Lycett for his ‘brilliant three years at the helm’ and said that Pascoe was ‘one of our funniest comedians [and] passionate about the inspirational impact’ of The Great British Sewing Bee.
Susanne Rock, executive producer of Love Productions, which makes the programme, added Pascoe was "just the person to give our new sewers all the encouragement they need".
The Great British Sewing Bee originally launched in 2013, with Claudia Winkleman as host.
