Max And Paddy are ready to roll again
Paddy McGuinness says unseen scripts hold up well
Max And Paddy's Road To Nowhere is ready to return, Paddy McGuinness has revealed.
The star says he and co-creator Peter Kay have two special Christmas episodes of the comedy about the Phoenix Nights bouncers already written.
He said they were penned when the six-part spin-off first aired on Channel 4 17 years ago, but insists the scripts have stood the test of time.
His comments echo those made by Kay at a rare live appearance earlier this summer. When asked if the show would return, he said: ‘You never know… I Ioved making Max And Paddy — it was one of the best times we ever had filming and we had such a good laugh.’
Now McGuinness has told The Sun: ‘[Kay] makes an appearance once every three or four years, says we’re going to do some Max and Paddy, then no one sees him again. And then every interview I do it’s like, "When’s it back?".
‘I’m texting him like, "Why have you done that again?". But if you look at what we’ve already written, you think, "That will go down really well".’
