Lolly Adefope and Wanda Sykes join Chivalry

Steve Coogan and Sarah Solemani's #MeToo comedy-drama

Lolly Adefope, Wanda Sykes and Sienna Miller have joined the cast of  Steve Coogan’s new Channel 4 comedy-drama Chivalry.

The Alan Partridge star co-wrote the show – about gender politics in the #MeToo era in the film industry – with his co-star Sarah Solemani, of Him and Her fame.

And today the broadcaster announced the ensemble cast and guest cameos joining the show.

Sykes stars as Jean Shrill, a shrewd studio executive who arranges for Bobby Sohrabi (Solemani), a passionate indie-darling filmmaker, to take over as director of A Little Death, the problematic movie produced by Cameron O’Neill (Coogan), who is trying to stay relevant.

Miller plays Lark, the magnetic and dynamic leading actress of Cameron’s movie, while Adefope plays Ama, Cameron’s new assistant who’s eager to climb the ladder of success.

Chewing Gum’s Robert Lonsdale is Rick, the editor of A Little Death (which comes from the French phrase for an orgasm) whileDreaming Whilst Black’s Adjani Salmon is Aston, Bobby’s patient husband

Paul Rudd, Peter Mullan and Amy Landecker will also be making cameo appearances.

Channel 4 says: ‘Chivalry is a fresh new look on gender politics and romance, and asks the question: can one build and sustain a successful, relevant career in Hollywood without sacrificing authenticity? Chivalry grants the audience permission to laugh while asking complex questions that we as a society often find hard to discuss.’

Chivalry is being made by Coogan's company Baby Cow Productions.
