BBC pilots new Ruth Jones and Rob Brydon comedy
Gavin & Stacey may not be returning imminently – but stars Ruth Jones and Rob Brydon have started filming their own festive special, entitled Ray & Gaynor.
The half-hour comedy, unrelated to their previous hit, is being currently being shot in the Scottish Highlands, the Mirror reports today.
It is set to air on BBC One and is believed to be a pilot for a possible future series.
The show is being made by Tidy Productions - the company Jones runs with her producer husband David Peet – and is being directed by Sandy Johnson, who previously worked on Stella.
Jones and Brydon have been friends since their schooldays in Porthcawl and went on to attend the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
The 2019 Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, in which the pair reprised their roles as Nessa Jenkins and Uncle Bryn, attracted 17million viewers.
News of Ray & Gaynor was first reported by the British Comedy Guide earlier this month.
