John-Luke Roberts spoofs ALL the podcasts

New series launching next week

John-Luke Roberts is to launch a new podcast, spoofing all the other podcasts.

Welcome To The Sound Heap will feature scores of guest comedians improvising parodies of shows, based only on their ridiculous made-up titles.

It has been inspired by 500 tweets the comic made when he ‘mad during lockdown', each suggesting the name of a podcast that did not yet exist.

He said: ’A few months ago I discovered that I was one of only three people in the country not to have a podcast. I wanted to put that right, and have made up for my late start by making loads and loads and loads of them.’

Producer  Ed Morrish added: ‘In a world where just about every podcast you can think of exists, we realised there was a gap in the market for some podcasts that don’t.’

Those taking part in the 12-part series  include Tom Allen, Kevin EldonMark Watson, Katherine Parkinson, Deborah Frances-White, Elis James, Isy Suttie, Katy Brand and Bilal Zafar.

The first weekly episode is to be released across all platforms on June 2, and will include the following parodies:

  • Describing Pretzels to Peter, Who's Never Seen A Pretzel (ft. Eleanor Morton)
  • Liza Minelli Reads From Instruction Manuals (ft. Sooz Kempner)
