Simon Says revolves around obsessive fans

The BBC has released the movie poster-style image for next week’s episode of Inside No 9, with the first stills from the programme.

Entitled Simon Says, the programme looks at the relationship that massive cult TV shows have with their devoted audience.

Perhaps drawing inspiration from Game Of Thrones, the plot revolves around a fantasy epic called The Ninth Circle, which ended with an episode widely regarded as  disappointing

Now show-runner Spencer Maguire, played by Steve Pemberton,  is keen to move on to new projects, but show obsessive Simon Smethurst, played by Reece Shearsmith, has other ideas. So he decides to visit his hero to help put things right.

The episode, directed by Guillem Morales, features Lindsay Duncan, below, and Nick Mohammed as guest stars. It airs on BBC Two at 9.30pm next Monday, May 17.
