Bo Burnham films a new special
Bo Burnham is to release his first comedy special in five years.
Inside will be streamed on Netflix later this year, although no precise release date has yet been confirmed.
The comic tweeted that ‘it was filmed by me, alone, without a crew or an audience, over the course of the past year,’ adding: ’It is almost finished. I hope you like it.’
A teaser shows him playing piano alone in a dimly lit room - a nod to the way he shot to prominence as a teenage YouTube star - and transforming from clean-shaven to bearded:
Burnham can currently be seen in the Oscar-winning film Promising Young Woman, where he plays the love interest of star Carey Mulligan, while his next project is an as-yet untitled HBO series about Lakers basketball in the 1980s.
His directorial debut, Eighth Grade, was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2018.
Burnham previously released the specials Words Words Words in 2010, What in 2013, and Make Happy in 2016.
