Cooking With The Stars comes to ITV this summer

Tom Allen is to front a new primetime celebrity cooking show on ITV.

The comic will front Cooking With The Stars with Emma Willis when it launches this summer.

It will feature eight celebrities, each paired with an accomplished chef who will aim to guide their amateur cooking to restaurant level quality. The professionals will also act as judges in blind taste tests - so could end up eliminating their partner.

Allen said: 'Allen said: "I’m absolutely delighted to be working with Emma and an amazing team of chefs and celebrities. I have a feeling everyone’s going to be put through their paces but we’re going to have a lot of fun along the way.'

The series - which producers South Shore call - 'a fresh new format' – will be sponsored by Marks and Spencers and use ingredients from the store.

Which celebrities and chefs are taking part has not yet been revealed.

Allen has already fronted a celebrity version of the Great British Bake-Off for Channel 4, and has a long association with the show through its Extra Slice spin-off.
