Arrested Development star Jessica Walter dies at 80
Jessica Walter, who played controlling Bluth family matriarch Lucille in Arrested Development, has died at the age of 80.
She also voiced spymistress Malory Archer in the animated comedy Archer in a career that also encompassed projects as diverse as Clint Eastwood’s Play Misty for Me, the sitcom Three’s A Crowd and teen drama 90210.
Her daughter, Brooke Bowman, released a statement saying: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of my beloved mom Jessica.
‘A working actor for over six decades, her greatest pleasure was bringing joy to others through her storytelling both on screen and off.
‘While her legacy will live on through her body of work, she will also be remembered by many for her wit, class and over
Walter won an Emmy for her lead role in 1970s police drama Amy Prentiss and nominations for her roles in The Streets of San Francisco and Trapper John, M.D.
She died in her sleep at home in New York City
