Jack Whitehall writes a travel book
Jack Whitehall has written a 'how to travel' book – with help from his mum and dad.
How To Survive Family Holidays, which is out in July, promises to be ‘one part Lonely Planet, one part tell-all family memoir’.
The comic wrote the book with his dad Michael – the former theatrical agent who has accompanied him on several trips for the Netflix series Travels With My Father – and his mother Hilary.
Publishers Sphere say: ‘No one family has more experience of travelling together than the Whitehalls. Indeed they've been allowing us a window to their escapades for the past five years in the hit Netflix show… and in this hilarious book they have now decided to pool their advice for fellow travellers.’
They add that by sharing ‘some of their best anecdotes, their most extreme experiences and their most valuable advice’ the guide will ‘lay out the pitfalls of family holidays. The dos and don'ts, the highs and lows.’
Jack broke the news on social media, posting some footage of old family holidays to promote the release:
Holidays do you remember them? I’ve written a book all about my long and tumultuous history of travelling with my family. It got gatecrashed as usual by my comedy sidekicks. It’s out later this year, hopefully by then you can read it on a beach somewhere! https://t.co/m3jrKrzY13 pic.twitter.com/0h3iv3PGHk
