Joel Dommett to host The Masked Dancer
Joel Dommett is to host a Masked Singer spin-off, The Masked Dancer.
The show will mimic the format of ITV’s hit with 12 celebrities dancing in extravagant costumes, leaving viewers and a star panel to guess their identities.
Judges will be Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, and Davina McCall, all of whom already feature on The Masked Singer, plus Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse.
Dommett proved a hit hosting the two series of The Masked Singer last year, which attracted up to 10million viewers
He said: 'Well, this is set to be an amazing fun twist…will someone do the twist?! The Masked Dancer is that little bit of silly fun our lives need right now and I’m so excited to be hosting it. I’m looking forward to some incredible costumes, epic performances and accidentally saying Masked Singer at least five times.'
The seven-part series, made by Bandicoot Scotland, will air in late spring.
ITV head of entertainment Katie Rawcliffe said: ‘The Masked Singer is a huge hit for ITV and our viewers can’t get enough of this colourful guessing game. The Masked Dancer will build on that success and create a new format that will be just as much fun and entertaining for our viewers.’
