BBC to air Rose Matafeo’s Horndog

Stand-up special first screened on HBO Max

The BBC has bought the rights to Rose Matafeo’s stand-up special Horndog.

The Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning show will be streamed on BBC Three’s iPlayer channel and on BBC One later this month.

It was filmed at the Ambassadors Theatre in London’s West End early in 2020 and streamed on America’s HBO Max service last year as part of a series that also included shows from Beth Stelling and James Veitch.

Described as a ‘whirlwind of mid-20s angst and fizzing obsession’, the special revolves around the brag that she has kissed nearly ten men in her life.

Matefeo is currently working on her debut romcom Starstruck, which is set to launch later this year on BBC Three and HBO Max.

UPDATE:  Horndog will be on BBC Three iPlayer from February 21 and then on BBC One on Wednesday February 24 at 10:45pm
