Netflix series for London Hughes

Comic to star in discussion show about the streamer's biggest hits

London Hughes is to star in a new Netflix show, discussing the streaming service’s best new releases.

The British stand-up will star in the 18-episode series The Netflix Afterparty alongside David Spade, who is also an executive producer, and US comic  Fortune Feimster.

Each week they will be joined by stars of the series under discussion, as well as comedians with Netflix specials.

‘This show will be a blast,’ Spade said. 'I'm looking forward to putting Netflix on the map. I am huge in Tanzania and they finally get me once a week. I got your letters guys and they’ve been answered.’

Hughes last year became the first black British woman in 39 years to be nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award.

She has presented shows for CBBC, and has appeared on several reality TV shows – but has moved to America citing a glass ceiling for black comedians in the UK.
