Famalam up for a Rose d'Or
Famalam and a raft of British sitcoms have been shortlisted for this year’s prestigious Rose D’Or international TV award.
The BBC Three sketch show led by black talent is the only UK programme nominated in the best comedy category, where it face competition from Japanese, American, Belgian, Mexican and Dutch shows.
However the comedy-drama and sitcom category is dominated by British entries.
Aisling Bea’s This Way Up, Mae Martin’s Feel Good, the Sky comedy-thriller Two Weeks To Live and Netflix hit Sex Education have all been shortlisted.
The other nominated shows in this section are Russia’s 257 Reasons To Live, about a cancer patient who goes into remission and decides to live out her bucket list, and Parliament, a French series about the goings-on at the European Parliament.
Radio 4 current affairs spoof Agendum, written by Jason Hazeley and Joel Morris and starring Carrie Quinlan, has been shortlisted in the audio category.
Winners will be announced at a streamed ceremony hosted by Nish Kumar on December 9.

Aside from Famalam, the other comedy nominees are Japan’s Secret Gameshow, Woke from the US, Did You Get The Message from Belgium, R from Mexico and Toren C from the Netherlands.
