Jimmy Carr joins BBC's new music game show
Jimmy Carr is to be one of the panellists on BBC One’s new primetime music game show I Can See Your Voice.
To be hosted by Paddy McGuinness, the new format involves teams trying to predict who has a great singing voice – and who doesn’t – from looks alone.
Carr said of his new job: ‘I think a silly, crazy, fun hour of telly is just what we all need. And it doesn’t come any more silly, crazy or fun than this.’
Also on the panel will be This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, who the BBC describe as a ‘national treasure’.
She said: ‘I’ve seen first hand over my many years as a judge, how acts can shock you with an incredible voice. With my experience on stage, television and radio I think I have one of the best pair of eyes in the business for spotting talent so the masqueraders will really have to up their game to fool me.’
The show is based on a South Korean format, and eight hour-long episodes have been commissioned from producers Thames and Naked to air next year.
Other versions have been made in ten countries, including Germany and America, where it is hosted by comic Ken Jeong:.
