Grime star's Big Eats comedy cooking show will return to Dave

The Dave channel has ordered a second series of Big Zuu’s Big Eats, in which the grime artist cooks meals for comedy stars.

The rapper’s school friends Tubsey and Hyder will also return for ten 40-minute episodes and two hour-long specials.

However, the second series will not just feature comedians, but stars from other fields of entertainment.

Big Zuu said: ‘I feel like the first season was received so well and we managed to build a cult following of people who really loved all the different aspects of the programme.

‘You can expect the same jokes and amazing food on series two just bigger and better in every way.’

One of the two specials will be a Christmas episode in which Zuu finally lets Tubsey and Hyder meet some of the comics from series one. The second will be a music special featuring Loyle Carner, JME and Julie

Natalie Rose, who commissioned the show, said: ‘The brilliance of Zuu, Hyder and Tubsey along with honesty and distinctiveness of this format has proved a hit across the board and I am beyond excited to have it back for a second series.

‘Viewers can look forward to more side-splitting content, but this time, with a much broader mix of talent.’

Sam Grace, creative director of programme-makers Boom added: ‘Zuu is a brilliant talent who has an incredible ability to combine comedy, cooking and music in his own unique way.

‘He’s already shown that he can cook mouthwatering food for comedians on tour – and so its no wonder that other stars are lining up to be fed by him, Tubsey and Hyder. ‘

Comedians who took part in the first series included  Jimmy Carr, London Hughes, Josh Widdicombe and Jamali Maddix

Big Zuu’s Big Eats series two will air on Dave in 2021, and the two specials will air later this year. The first series can be viewed on UKTV Play.
