Brassic fantastic!
Sky says its comedy Brassic has set a record for binge-watching.
More than 800,000 viewers completed the box set of the second series within the first fortnight of launch last month.
In total, the six episodes have been requested 5.9million times on-demand – and series one racked up a a further 2.8 million downloads as new viewers went back to see last year’s first series.
Taking catch-up viewing into account, the second series launched with a seven-day cumulative audience of 1.51 million.
Creators Joe Gilgun, who also stars, and Danny Brocklehurst have already been commissioned to make an expanded third series of eight episodes, although a release date is yet to be disclosed revealed.
Jon Mountague, director of comedy at Sky Studios, said: ‘What a thrill to see record numbers of our customers enjoy Brassic in super quick time. The combination of brilliantly honest writing and an outstanding cast have left them hungry for more - roll on season 3!’
To mark the milestone, Sky has released a blooper reel from second series.
Other regular stars include Michelle Keegan, Damien Molony, Tom Hanson, Aaron Heffernan, Ryan Sampson, Parth Thakerar and Dominic West.
