'It blew me away,' he said. ''I didn't have the classic symptoms. I didn't have shortness of breath, I didn't have difficulty breathing, I didn't have a cough, I didn't have a low-grade fever. I didn't have a loss of smell or taste.
He said he was admitted with exhaustion and dehydration after collapsing on stage at Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville late on Friday night. The footage has been posted online:
'Apparently, I just lost consciousness,' he explained. 'So, in addition to all the other stuff that you have to look out for, if yo' ass pass out in the middle of a show on stage, you probably need to get tested.'
Hughley – who came to prominence via the The Original Kings of Comedy - is now going to quarantine in his hotel room for 14 days.
