Romesh Ranganathan to revisit his Misadventures
Romesh Ranganathan is to repackage highlights of his BBC Two travelogue for a new ‘best of’ series.
As the coronavirus shuts down the production of most new programmes, the broadcaster has commissioned the comic to introduce a new three-part series re-living his televised Misadventures.
The comic had visited nine locations off the beaten path over two series – Haiti, Ethiopia, Albania, the Arctic, Zimbabwe, Mongolia, Bosnia, Columbia and the Sahara – and had a third on the way.
But while travel is impossible, programme-makers Rumpus Media have been commissioned to produce the follow-up series, which has the working title Misadventures From My Sofa.
In the new hour-long episodes, the comedian will reunite with three of his co-hosts and revealing unseen footage.
Ranganathan said: ‘I could not resist the opportunity to make a travel show where not only do I not have to travel anywhere, but not even leave my living room.
‘I’m looking forward to sharing some insights about the shows that people will have not seen as well as catching up with my co-hosts, all of whom I received messages about being better than me when the shows went out.’
