Joel Dommett to host lockdown show for ITV2
Joel Dommett is to host an ITV2 show from his own home.
The lockdown show which launches on April 19, follows similar programmes fronted by Russell Howard for Sky One and Susan Calman for BBC Scotland.
Home Alone With Joel Dommett will feature celebrity call-ins, comedy interviews and games with self-isolated viewers from the shares home he shares with his wife Hannah.
The comic, who recently hosted The Masked Singer for ITV, said: ‘I'm so excited to try to cheer up the nation in this extraordinary time from my own home.
‘I have limited resources - a camera, the internet and my wife. We could either make porn, or a show for ITV2. We decided on the latter - although both would make people laugh.’
ITV's head of digital channels, Paul Mortimer, added: ‘Home Alone With Joel Dommett is the perfect show to put a smile on the faces of ITV2 viewers, many of whom are holed up indoors.
‘Joel's joyous brand of comedy fun and games will reflect the uplifting, often hilarious things Britain is getting up to to pass the time on lockdown.’
The show will broadcast on Sunday nights at 10pm from April 19, while Russell Howard’s Home Time starts on Sky One at 10.30pm tonight.
